Head Designer, Nokian Heavy Tyres

We’re looking for a Head Designer to be a dynamic and enthusiastic new member to our Research and Development at our head office in Nokia, Finland.

Nokian Heavy Tyres is looking for what’s beyond the next generation of tyres. As part of our Design and modelling team your role will be essential in developing the innovations of tomorrow. So, hope you’re ready to be part of shaping the future!

You work in development projects as part of the Design and modelling team and are responsible for ideation, designing, and developing tyre tread pattern and sidewall designs in accordance with the given project goals and schedules.

Key responsibilities:

• Ideation, sketching, visualization and development of new tread pattern and sidewall designs
• Analysis of performance test results and development of designs based on them
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders (including e.g. construction development, technical customer service etc.)
• Creation, development and productization of new innovations
• Continuous monitoring of competitor products, tyre market, and IPR topics
• Proactive development of own and team activities and the way of working

What we expect from you:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in industrial or product design or proven equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial or product design
• Proven expertise with different design & visualization tools and software, both 2D and 3D
• Skilled with 3D rendering / ray tracing tools and software
• Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills 
• Positive, self-motivated, can-do mindset with passionate attitude towards product design
• Ability to effectively execute many tasks and projects in parallel
• Ability to use Finnish and English as working languages
