Health and Safety Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Participate in incident investigations and facilitate root cause analyses;
- Develop, coordinate and conduct EHS Training;
- Provides expertise and guidance to supervisors and management on EHS matters related to applicable regulations.
- Interface with outside vendors, contractors, and engineers regarding facilities, chemicals, and health, and safety matters;
- Manages and maintains program records. Ensures records are accurate, complete, and compliant. Incorporates relevant documents into departmental files. Organizes records so they are readily accessible;
- Develops, fulfills, monitor and updates the prevention and protection plan;
- Identifies workstations requiring additional medical examinations;
- Identifies the workstations that, at the recommendation of the occupational medicine doctor, require aptitude testing and / or periodic psychological control;
- Monitor the functioning of protection systems and devices, measuring and control equipment, as well as ventilation installations or other installations in the work environment;
- Checks the functioning status of alarm, warning, emergency signaling systems, as well as safety systems.
- Drawing up the intervention plan for fire prevention and extinguishing;
- Elaborates documents specific to PSI activity;
- Other SSM and PSI duties.
Skills and requirements:
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited institute of higher learning preferred;
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in a related field;
- SSM and PSI certificates are mandatory;
- Risk assessor certificate is an advantage;
- Proficient in the use of MS Office suite;
- Ability to work autonomously and ability to adapt in a rapidly growing and evolving workplace;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Medium to advanced English speaker.
