Environmental Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates and verifies the update of Environmental Management System documentation;
• Develops policies and procedures that promote sustainable practices and compliance with environmental standards;
• Ensures that the organization complies with all applicable environmental laws and regulations in the region and  industry;
• Conducts internal audits to assess compliance with policies, laws and regulations, and identifies potential improvements;
• Prepares environmental reports and presenting them to stakeholders, including regulators, Nokian Tyers Europe Operations management and the local community;
• Maintains an active dialogue with state and local authorities and other organizations that have an interest in environmental protection;
• Develops and implements contingency plans to manage and minimize the impact of incidents that may affect the environment;
• Draw up the intervention plan for Fire Prevention and Extinguishing
• Coordinates activities and verifies the update of Environmental Management System documentation;
• Elaborates documents specific to PSI activity;

Skills and requirements:

• Undergraduate degree from an accredited institute of higher learning Environmental Engineering, is preferred;
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in automotive or similar fully regulated businesses
• PSI and Environmental certificates are mandatory;
• Risk assessor and SSM certificate is an advantage;
• ISO 14001 certificate is mandatory;
• Proficient in the use of MS Office suite;
• Ability to work autonomously and ability to adapt in a rapidly growing and evolving workplace;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Language skills: Fluency in English is required
